Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is
designed to promote and support professional development at every
career level. ESA CPD is a valuable and effective way for those
involved in the sponsorship industry, to maintain and develop the
wide range of skills needed to meet the demands of a fast-changing
and rapidly growing sponsorship industry.
The value of CPD is that without a great
burden on time a person can use a wide range of activities to
develop skills and knowledge and do it in a systematic manner that
can be tracked and measured.
Applicants who demonstrate a minimum of 35
hours of approved activities will receive a certificate to
demonstrate their 'ESA CPD Accredited' status. Activities which
will count towards CPD hours include attendance at industry
education events and conferences, ESA Forums, Workshops and Future
Sponsorship, in-house training programmes and through
knowledge-sharing activities such as authorship of articles and
speaking at conferences. Click here for the full list of CPD
qualifying activities
Personal record charts will enable applicants to record progress throughout the year. The 2008-09 three-page record chart can be downloaded here and should be completed and returned with supporting evidence to reach the ESA Office by 31 July 2009 for assessment during August.
Successful applicants will be listed on the
ESA website as ESA CPD Accredited. Apart from the value of CPD as
a way of providing a systematic approach to learning, ESA CPD
Accredited status can be used on professional records and CVs as a
means of demonstrating professional competence.
The scheme is available exclusively to ESA members. A small cost of €75 / £50 is applicable.
